2006
Off road motorcycles! I enjoy riding trails, hillclimbs, jumping and moto, especially the day after it has rained. I am currently riding KTM and Yamaha 450cc bikes in the woods and on the track. I am also riding the all new Yamaha FZ-07 on the street!
My older brother brought home the first motorcycle in 1968 to meet our family. My dad kicked him out of the house out of fear my brother would join a biker gang! (The times were different toward bikers back then... some restaurants would refuse service if you rode up on a motorcycle!) My dad's friends convinced him to let my brother move back home. Soon after, Honda advertised "You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda" and I got my first Mini Trail 50. Thank you, brother Bill for paving the way for me (and now, my family)! Oh, and he never joined a biker gang and now retired, rides all over the USA on bikes with his wife.
I try to take a ride vacation or water ski vacation once a week! We have several FL locations we enjoy riding or skiing during the week when it is less busy than weekends.
Best off road vacation: (tie) Durhamtown Plantation, GA and Land Between the Lakes, KY
Best street ride vacation: Smokey Mountain region! Tennessee, North Carolina and the north GA ribbon roads rule!!
Spaghetti! Bon appetit!
I was percussion section leader in my high school band and still play drums today. My late uncle, Donald "Duck" Dunn is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I am an Eagle Scout...my parents "encouraged" me to get this award before I turned 18 and would no longer be eligible. I beat the deadline by a week!
I hold a Florida real estate license.
My first BMX bike was a Spyder bike from Sears, with my motorcycle handlebars added...not sure if it was spelled Spyder, but it was a cool bike.
I came to FL to water ski for my college ski team, Florida Southern College in Lakeland. That was a winning tale!
