The 2026 MT-09 isn't a first bike and has never pretended to be. An 890cc triple has a way of making a rider honest — quick, light, and it gives back exactly what you put into it.

What it's really good at is a long Saturday. Out through Clermont early, north into the hills around Howey and Mount Dora, then take the whole afternoon getting east to the coast and back. Two hundred and fifty miles, home before dark, and no part of you wishing you'd taken the car.

Ride-by-wire, three rider modes, a quickshifter, and a TFT display you can read in Florida sun — that last one turns out to matter more than it sounds like it should.
